Put It In Writing

I just love a new book – a new novel, textbook, notebook or journal.  I think it’s something about that new book smell, the crackling sound of brand new pages being turned, or those crisp blank pages that appeal to me.  That’s part of the reason why I love making notebooks – and there’s a couple of new ones up for sale in my store and my Etsy.  These newbies have a Victorian/Steampunk theme and if you love them as much as I do then pick one up soon before they’re gone, gone, gone!

New Wall Decal – What’cha think?

I’ve put a new wall decal up in both my main site and my Etsy shop - It’s a tree design which I think looks rather retro-ish (is that a word?).  It’s also included some of my favorite color combos – (pink and anything!) but in this case, pink and brown with some blue and orange thrown in for good measure.  Don’t you think this would look great on your walls?  I do.  So head over to the shop and get one for yourself!

I Heart Design Awards – Have You Voted?

Hello all!

Today I wanted to give everyone a heads up just in case you weren’t aware (I know, you guys are aware of everything!) that there is a voting revolution going on over on the Rose Flash Blog for the ‘I Heart Design Awards’ !

What are these awards, you ask, well it’s a good-natured little  competition for designers, crafters, artists, photographers, etc. who go head to head to be voted the best in a number of different categories, such as Best Illustrator, Best Blog Design, Best Etsy Shop Design, and plenty of others.  Eye Candey happens to be nominated in one of the categories – Best E-Commerce Website & Website Design for the Candeystore !

So my fine friends, if you’re not doing anything right now (and even if you are – drop everything) and head on over to the Rose Flash Blog and vote for me!  (And go back tomorrow and do it again!, and the next day, and the next day – you get it!) And while you’re there, check out all of the other categories and vote for your favorites there as well – you’ll find some extremely talented people there, so it’s definitely worth your time.  Have a great day everyone!

I’m in the graphics business now!

Hi there!

Guess What?  I am now the proud owner of a graphics and clipart store!  Of course, you’ve probably already guessed this from the title of my post, but I don’t mind telling you yet again!

Now you may ask – ‘What’d you do that for?  Don’t you already have enough stuff to do?’  Well, the answer to that question is yes, but for you, my loyal readers, customers, and friends, I’m willing to take on the challenge!  In my humble opinion, a custom printing business and a graphics business go hand in hand, because don’t people (such as yourself) need graphics and clipart elements to use when you’re designing your next yard of fabric?  Or to design your website?  Or to create a new wall decal?  Well of course you do!  See – that’s why we get along so well, because I always have your best interests at heart!  Soo, check out Candey Graphics and tell me what you think, and what type of graphics you’d like to see for sale going forward.  Have a great day!!

Website Re-do!

Hey all!  I just spent the last few days re-designing my online store, and I  wanted to let you all know about the blood, sweat and tears that goes into such a project.  It was time consuming and made my eyeballs hurt.  I want to share this with you good people so that you will feel sympathy, and think to yourself  ‘what a sacrifice she has made in the name of entrepreneurship’ and know how dedicated to my projects I can be!

Okay,  really I just want you all to hop over and take a look so that I won’t feel that I did all that work for nothing!  If you  like it let me know!  If you don’t like it, I don’t really want to know, but you can tell me anyway!  Sooo, head on over to the Candeystore and while you’re at it, if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, you might as well do that too and stay in the loop!  Talk to ya soon!

About the Author – My Name is Joy and I love ‘Urban Cowboy’

In fact, it’s one of my Top 5 movies of all time.  C’mon, you know you love it too!  Don’t try to act like you don’t know what movie I’m talking about – John Travolta and Debra Winger hanging out at the local honky tonk, riding mechanical bulls.  A quick marriage, and a quick separation.  Hooking up with ex-cons in the trailer behind the bar.  Winning a bull riding competition and the inevitable fight for the girl at the end.  You’ve gotta love it in all it’s sappy country corniness, you’ve just got to.  (And you even get to see the handsome John T. get his butt kicked in a fight early on in the proceedings too!)  I think I’ll trot this one out just in time for Valentines day.  Everyone get your guy (or gal) and treat yourself to an old fashioned romance this year!
